Jennifer Berryhill
is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach. She is ReCODE 2.0 Certified and MoCA certified. Her unique background as a certified personal trainer and three decades of experience gives you access to expertise in this important area of the Bredesen Protocol®.

Jen provides personalized care ensuring that each individual feels understood and supported. Her exceptional attention to detail allows her to create tailored plans that address the unique needs of each client, promoting their well-being and enhancing their quality of life.

Her preferred clients are women interested in PreCODE, as well as those facing the challenges of Subjective Cognitive Impairment (SCI) or Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) with a MoCA score of 18 or above who need the ReCODE program.

As a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), she hopes to instill trust and confidence in her skills based on extensive coaching experience both in private practice and corporate settings. With a potent combination of skills for addressing Alzheimer’s prevention and care, she has a unique focus on fitness and its ability to be effectively used to help prevent cognitive decline, and enhance brain health now.

As a major part of the Bredesen Seven, “Exercise is one of the best ways to protect cognition and is also an important part of the protocol to reverse cognitive decline. It can improve oxygenation and sleep, reduce overall stress, optimize BMI (body mass index), and improve insulin sensitivity.”

Client testimonial:

She is patient, supportive, and empathetic — you don’t feel like you’re working with a drill sergeant, but a caring friend who isn’t afraid to speak the truth.”

Jen’s expertise with Alzheimer’s Disease Fitness, Women’s Menopause Wellness, Longevity strategies, and Weight Management provides the aggressive approach necessary for stimulating the brain and the body for maximum impact on overall outcomes.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

  • Jen’s focus is on the transformation of mood and energy state from a single physical-activity effort in order to lay a foundation for future compliance with FUN and joyful movement.
  • Every case is approached with an individual plan based on clearly laid out goals to improve not just cardiovascular health, but mobility, balance, and strength.
  • Her belief is that first steps are critical. How it feels to a client can be more important than what it does, especially in the beginning. Working with her gives you access to a multi-faceted toolbox of options for mindfulness, movement, and nutritional coaching.
  • Note that nutritional coaching is different from the services of a Registered Dietician. If at any time a referral is needed, she can help connect you to a suitable R.D. familiar with the Bredesen Protocol.
  • She can help you learn how to adapt your recipes and retrain your kitchen habits for the KetoFLEX 12/3 lifestyle.
  • She can teach you how to grocery shop proactively to make it efficient and keep you on plan without feeling frustrated.
  • You may feel overwhelmed at first by how different it is, but Jen will walk you through things step-by-step for as long as it takes for you to feel confident and see improvement in your health & cognition.
  • Jen will monitor your progress in BrainHQ, Cognitive Assessments, Reports, and help to keep you organized and on track in all aspects of the program.
  • Her approach to movement proceeds gently and takes care to address past injuries, current physical challenges, best time of day for the client to move, and how they are resting and recovering.

The utmost care is always taken to be flexible and recognize that each day may be different in terms of capabilities and energy level.

Jen can support you in addressing the full scope of lifestyle domains in the ‘Bredesen Seven’ via PreCODE or ReCODE and work as a team to refine the approach over time.

Her goal is always to bring value to a person’s life and make the experience of today better!

Jen is looking forward to meeting with you and partnering to foster your best brain-health outcome on the Bredesen Protocol®.

WHAT TO EXPECT

First Session (50 minutes)

This first call is meant to give us the solid foundation to build a plan with as much detail as possible, including:

  • Discussion of your most pressing needs, concerns, and goals
  • Review of any assessments, data, lab work, Apollo Health reports, etc., that you have so far
  • Development of a Strategic Plan to prioritize important steps relevant to you
  • Opportunity for you to ask me questions to better understand my philosophy of coaching and how we can make the most impact
  • Administration of the MoCA (or during second visit if that’s more comfortable) if you’ve never taken one or if an update is needed
  • Discussion of the resources available to you with your Apollo Health subscription

During subsequent sessions, she will take time to talk about how you are feeling lately, reviewing reports, challenges, questions, or any specific issues that need addressing.

How often will you meet with Jen?

Your personal needs will determine the frequency of these sessions. Some people prefer to meet once per week (especially in the beginning), and others prefer to meet every other week. Keep in mind that there are no limits on how often you can book. If you need a cadence of 2 per week to feel comfortable, then that is just fine.

This is your time, and Jen’s goal is always to listen carefully to address your concerns and what you’d like to work on. She is here to listen to you, give support and guidance, and be tuned-in to the most pressing issues of the day.

SERVICES PROVIDED

EXERCISE GUIDANCE:

  • Jen is uniquely qualified to provide expert exercise guidance and planning strategies.

REPORTS:

  • Assistance generating PreCODE or ReCODE Reports as needed
  • MoCA (Note: the MoCA can be administered through Telehealth if needed)
  • BrainHQ progress

  • What is triggering you lately? Jen will discuss specific techniques, breath work, meditations, etc., that can alleviate the external stress (thoughts, emotions, and sensations) and help cultivate inner calm, clarity, acceptance, and openness to change.

SLEEP:

  • Time will be spent discussing the intricate relationship between sleep and brain health: Sleep and monitoring of oxygen saturation, snoring problems, “wearable” sleep tracking data, and whether a sleep study makes sense for you.

ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS CHECK-IN:

  • Since we are all exposed to so many things, Jen focuses on progress in cleaner indoor air, possible mold exposures, water filtration, and “clean” products for home cleaning & laundry.

MEDICAL UPDATES:

  • This is a chance to communicate about things your doctor has flagged for you to pay attention to, any new medications/supplements or dosing changes, scans, etc.
  • If a client requests direct communication with their physician, Jen provides this service as part of the package. You will need to contact your doctor and fill out the necessary forms to give them permission to share medical information with her.
  • NOTE: if your physician or medical practice charges an extra fee for their time in order to speak with her, then these extra fees are solely your responsibility.
  • Cost for labs, supplements, equipment, supplies, and adjunct therapies/treatments are not included in the program prices.
